Family House Korcháň

On a narrow, long site in the middle of the mountains, from the access road, we designed a garage with a workshop, partially sunk into the terrain. The mass of the garage obscures the view of the family house from the road and thus provides its occupants with privacy, but at the same time does not obstruct the view. The vegetated roof of the garage is a continuation of the garden.

The family house has simple compact shape, which reflects the shape of the land. The girder truss solution provides a clear height of over 1 and a half floor of rooms in the day zone and a division into the ground floor and residential attic in the night zone.

We enter in the middle of the building into the vestibule, which opens into the central large space of the day zone. The living area consists of a spacious living room with a library, dining room and kitchen. Directly from the living room there is access to a generous covered terrace with an outdoor fireplace and a summer kitchen.

Behind the kitchen is the entire night area consisting of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, utility room and laundry room. After the stairs we get to the attic, where are storage spaces, a playroom for children and a workroom occasionally used as a guest room.

The house is designed in a natural modern spirit, the horizontality of the building is supported by stone cladding in combination with white facade plaster.
