Columbarium

The project deals with the construction of urn walls – columbariums within the Slávičie údolie cemetery site.

The mass of the columbarium consists mainly of a reinforced concrete prefabricated blocks. Aesthetically, we chose to keep the polished concrete, with the fact that the individual boxes are closed with black polished granite stone. This creates an interesting contrast between stone and raw concrete.

Since the area being treated is slightly sloping, we create two reinforced planes connected to each other by a concrete staircase.

Within the zone, we also place two benches for rest, green areas and a pergola, which will complete the atmosphere of the place and at the same time serve as a bio-climatic element to improve spending time in the summer months.
